A diverse group of labor organizations in and around Westchester have endorsed Vedat Gashi in the August 23 Democratic congressional primary for NY 16, emphasizing that Gashi's experience, values and positions on economic development and infrastructure issues make him well suited to advocate for workers and their families.
"I'm humbled to receive the support of this large group of important labor organizations," said Gashi, who currently serves as a Westchester County legislator. "I look forward to working with them to improve conditions and deliver results for working families across NY 16".
"Our campaign will fight to protect working families and help the middle class, because this district deserves a representative who supports mainstream Democratic policies and will put progress before posturing and work hard to deliver tangible results for everyday New Yorkers," Gashi noted, adding, "we're focused on making real progress on kitchen table issues like holding down taxes, lowering health care costs, strengthening our infrastructure, and improving our economy".
