China Infiltrating Texas Universities

• Later today, Texas Scorecard will release the first in a four-part investigative series looking at the ways Communist China is infiltrating higher education in the Lone Star State.

Biden Wants More Unreliable Power For Texas

• As Texas’ power grid struggles to keep up with record-breaking heat waves, the Biden Administration unveiled plans to build a 500,000-acre wind farm 24 miles off the coast of Galveston. As Katy Drollinger explains, the proposed wind farm would take up an area larger than the city of Houston.
     
• The use of “renewable” resources has come under fire in Texas due in large part to their unreliability. Wind and solar account for 25 percent of energy production on Texas’ grid, but critics charge that the “unreliables” have failed when Texans need reliable power the most.

DEMS Want You To Pay For Illegals

• With the influx of drugs coming across the border and record numbers of people being detained and released, attention has been focused on the crisis at the southern border. Texas Democrats want taxpayers to pick up the tab. Emily Wilkerson has the story.
      
• Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released data last year showing that Texans spend over $850 million for illegal immigration, including hospital bills and housing. Taxpayers in the Lone Star State spend between $31 million and $63 million on the education costs of unaccompanied illegal alien children.
      
• While Texas Democrats were too disorganized (or, according to some delegates, too inebriated) to complete their party’s biennial platform, a draft version called for expanding access under Obamacare to illegal aliens and DACA recipients – at taxpayer expense. The draft also calls for abolishing reentry bans for “nonviolent” illegals.

Will Temple Push Transgenderism In The Workplace?

• In the Central Texas town of Temple, taxpayers may soon be forced to pay a Chicago company to come survey and potentially instruct city employees to promote hazardous sexual behaviors, racial prejudice, and “transgenderism.” Jacob Asmussen has the details.
   
• The city is looking to hire, with taxpayer dollars, the Nova Collective.  The group encourages cities to “follow nonbinary and/or gender non-confirming thought leaders.”

Fredericksburg Paper Publishes Excerpts From School Porn Books

• When copies of the Fredericksburg Conservative hit mailboxes across Gillespie County last week emblazoned with a warning that inside the newspaper were “materials that may be considered offensive and inappropriate,” it was an eye-opener for Texas Hill Country residents.
      
• As Erin Anderson reports, the paper wasn’t seeking scandal – but rather reporting on a community story the local leftist paper has refused to properly cover.
      
• Most people in the community had never seen the graphic content of the books that parents are challenging as age-inappropriate and pornographic. For Fredericksburg mom Tara Petsch, the local publication was a godsend.
     
• David Treibs decided to the publish the paper specifically to give local parents a voice.

And Finally…

• The Democrats’ economic policy can best be described as “bread lines aren’t so bad.” The Democrats’ social policy can best be described as “monkeypox.”
