If you managed to miss season one of the January 6th committee hearings which wrapped up last week, honestly good for you. Because, unless you’re a budding dystopian fiction writer and/or insurrectionist, the harrowing details of an orchestrated plot to overturn the 2020 election with violent and fatal results is, well, a lot. 

But the one main takeaway for all of us is the warning issued by numerous witnesses in these hearings: This attack on our democracy failed in 2020, but the very same people are going to try again in 2024, and American democracy may not survive a second attempt. 

Ok, that’s even more “a lot.” So let’s take this step by step. First, look at this bunny:

Second, take a gander at the stakes: This November may mark a turning point, where the MAGA movement cements its power by placing its henchmen into key positions of power to administer and certify elections. (Return eyes to bunny. Now continue.) The surest way to stop this plot is to defeat Big Liars at the ballot box — and we’ve got a little over 100 days to do it. Are you in?

(Hope you’re in. If you’re not, that bunny will have gotten all dressed up for NOTHING.) 

This Sunday, July 31st, marks 100 days out from the midterm elections on November 8th. With so little time to go, it’s time to make every day count. That’s why we’re kicking off this countdown to 100 Days with a week of action.

There are a lot of different ways to get involved this cycle and a lot of places that could use your help. Ask yourself what candidates and issues you care about, and what you need to do to feel you’ve done your part when the results come rolling in on November 8th, no matter what they are. 

Luckily, we’ve got everything you need to get started. Oh look, another fun step! Take the Count Me in Pledge and commit to volunteering during the weekend of July 31st. We’ll help you find impactful volunteer opportunities near you and follow up with additional ways to get involved from now until November.

We know just how high the stakes are this year. Abortion is on the ballot. Climate is on the ballot. Democracy itself is on the ballot. Can we count on you? CAN THE BUNNY? DID WE OVERDO THIS JOKE?
