Exciting news! The House recently passed the yearly National Defense Authorization Act, and Stacey secured some key wins for the Virgin Islands. It is now on its way to the Senate, and if it becomes law, the bill will:

• Raise the pay for U.S. Virgin Islands servicemembers by 4.6%, including a 2.4% inflation bonus for those earning less than $45,000 a year
• Require a report from the Department of Defense to Congress on U.S. military capabilities in and around the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico
• Require the Department of Veterans Affairs to establish the Advisory Committee on United States Outlying Areas to provide guidance on matters relating to veterans residing in U.S. territories
