I refuse to take no for an answer They said a double-amputee Republican veteran like me couldn’t win. I proved them wrong, and now I’m out to do it again. If you’re with me, please help me take back the House by winning Florida’s brand new 21st Congressional District! DONATE NOW TO HELP A VETERAN: SUPPORT BRIAN MAST You see, when I first ran for Congress, I was up against a self-funding, millionaire liberal. I was a Republican outsider, just out of the military where I got blown up by the Taliban and lost both of my legs. I didn’t have connections to millionaires and billionaires, and I certainly didn’t have millions of my own to fund my race. They told me that, as a result, I’d never win. They told me that wanting to continue my service to our country wasn’t enough: I needed the political connections that a staff sergeant like myself just didn’t have. I refused to believe the American people were that naive and jaded. I refused to take no for an answer. And I won. Now, I’m up against a similar challenge: redistricting has thrown my family’s home into a newly drawn district. And this isn’t the easiest district in Florida for Republicans to win. But, if we want to have any chance of taking back the House, we need to win this race. So, no matter what they say, I’m going to sprint forward on my metal legs once more into the breach. But – if I learned one thing in the military, it’s that you can’t win big fights alone. In fact, if my fellow soldiers hadn’t rushed toward the sound of an explosion when the Taliban bomb detonated beneath me, I’d be dead today. Just like in the military, I can’t win this race alone either. That’s why I’m reaching out to you today urgently. Voters are already casting their ballots in my election this August, so I’m running out of time to reach new voters who have never seen my name on a ballot before. Please, can I count on you to run toward the sound of the explosion with me? DONATE NOW TO HELP BRIAN MAST: TAKE BACK THE HOUSE! Sincerely, SSG Brian Mast, U.S. Army (ret.) Hon.
