BNC representatives Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush are each up for reelection on August 2nd and facing tough primaries. Dark money groups and powerful political insiders are lining up to kick them out of Congress. But their solidarity runs deep – as Rashida reminded us when she recently celebrated Cori’s birthday this last Thursday, July 21st! |
Our candidates consistently have each other’s backs, and Brand New Congress has theirs.
Also up on August 2nd are Rebecca Parson and Stephanie Gallardo, each running in Washington against entrenched, corporate-funded incumbents. Washington’s Top Two primary system means that both Rebecca and Stephanie stand an excellent chance of getting into the general election together alongside their incumbents.
And finally on August 4th, Odessa Kelly is running unopposed in the Democratic primary for Tennessee’s newly drawn 7th Congressional district. So we will see Odessa on the ticket in November! |
Happening on the Hill What are BNC’s elected representatives up to this week?
Last week, 17 House Democrats were arrested outside the Supreme Court protesting the court’s abusive overreach of their authority in overturning Roe v Wade, and the Senate’s failure to codify abortion rights into law.
Three of our BNC representatives were among those arrested: Cori Bush, AOC, and Rashida Tlaib. |
BNC streamed live to Facebook and YouTube to discuss the events the day it happened. If you missed it, click below to watch on the BNC YouTube channel.

Take Action How can you make an impact this week? FIX THE COURT
Over 200,000 people have signed this petition demanding Congress reform the Supreme Court.
The radical, right-wing supermajority on the Supreme Court has plunged our highest court into a legitimacy crisis. Congress HAS the authority to check the court’s abuse of power – and it is their duty to do so. Add your name to tell Congress it’s time to rein in this rogue court. |
