JOHN,

Thirty-two years ago tomorrow, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. This landmark legislation provided protections to those living with disabilities and was a step forward to ensuring our workplaces, businesses, and transportation were accessible to all.

Representative Jim Langevin has been a fierce advocate for people with disabilities. As the first and only quadriplegic to serve in Congress, Congressman Langvein founded the Bipartisan Disabilities Caucus and helped pass legislation to strengthen protections for people with disabilities.

We've made a lot of progress since the ADA was passed but still have a lot of work to build on what Representative Langevin and other leaders have accomplished. Even with the protections provided in the ADA, millions of Americans still struggle to be included in many aspects of society.

As Treasurer, Seth was proud to join with other state treasurers, legislators, and members of Congress to implement the Access to a Better Life Experience Act. This bill gives those living with disabilities and their families a way to save for the future without sacrificing the federal benefits upon which they rely.

Seth knows how important it is that Rhode Island businesses, workplaces, housing, and transportation are accessible for all. That's why in Congress, he will continue working to ensure all Americans living with disabilities are protected and included in their communities.

Will you add your name to join Seth in supporting protections for Americans living with disabilities?

Seth Magaziner is a father, husband, and proud Democrat. He’s running for Congress to fight for the middle class and those working hard to join it. Seth will protect Social Security and Medicare and work to lower the cost of prescription drugs by allowing Medicare to negotiate with drug companies. He will defend a woman’s right to choose, stand up to the gun lobby to pass common sense gun safety measures, and make Rhode Island a leader in the clean energy economy - creating good jobs while combatting the climate crisis. Seth is running for Congress in the competitive open Second District. Will you chip in to elect Seth in November and keep RI-02 blue?
