We need to send our three congresswomen back to Washington to protect our rights

Folks,

It’s the end of July, and election season is in full swing. We’ve got a lot of crucial races in Virginia this year, and once again the eyes of the nation are on the Commonwealth. Control over the U.S. House hangs in the balance, and will come down to a few critical seats here at home.

Reps. Elaine Luria, Abigail Spanberger, and Jennifer Wexton are in the middle of tough races, and the need for us to send them back to Washington for another term continues to grow with every passing day.

Will you help me send our three outstanding congresswomen back to Washington this November?

We’ve said it a lot over the past month, but it bears repeating: after the overturn of Roe v. Wade, so many of our rights appear to be on the chopping block. It’s no longer just about abortion, but now the GOP has taken aim at access to contraception and the freedom for consenting adults to marry the ones they love.

It feels like we learn something new from the January 6th Committee every day. If Trump’s lapdog Kevin McCarthy is in charge of the House, we know he’ll shut down their investigation into the insurrection before jetting off to Mar-A-Lago to tell his boss. We can’t let that happen.

These rights that we hold sacred are the GOP’s target. We know this, because they tell us, time and time again. We need to listen.

The staff and I at the Democratic Party of Virginia are working tirelessly to ensure that all Virginians’ personal freedoms are protected, but we can’t do it alone. The GOP is working overtime to continue turning back the clock on our progress.

That’s why I’m asking you to join me in this fight, folks. Can I count on you to help me save these three seats and preserve Virginia’s future?

Thank you for your support. We can win this fight and protect Virginians, but it’ll take all of us.

Susan Swecker
