We are looking for a Disabled Children?s Support Worker to work part time in our Whole Life Disability (South) team for six months initially, with a possible extension.

The starting salary is ?25,295 (Level One) rising to ?26,999 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

JOB PURPOSE:
The post holder will contribute to the assessment process, working flexibly across the Whole Life Disability Service to facilitate personalised support for disabled children, young people and their families, by offering direct support, practical help and advice.
??
This will include providing support to parents / carers in establishing day-to-day routines and fulfilling practical tasks that is based on a whole life, strength based, person centred approach, and plans being able to ?reach up? in working with children, young people and adults as part of preparation for adulthood.
??
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a caseload of disabled children and young people in need of services, ensuring timely interventions, monitoring and reviews.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Understanding of whole life, strength based person centred approaches;
  2. Some experience of working with disabled children and young people;
  3. Voluntary or paid work in a multi-cultural environment.
