For sexist, misogynistic Republicans like Matt Gaetz, it was NEVER just about banning abortion. Their agenda has always been about controlling, degrading, and dehumanizing women.

Gaetz and the GOP have contempt for women that knows no bounds. They see us as objects — only valuable for our attractiveness and usefulness to men.

This is the patriarchy at work.

Matt Gaetz and those like him would like to return us to a time when women were seen and not heard. It wasn’t so long ago that women couldn’t open bank accounts or credit cards without a man’s permission. It wasn’t so long ago that women couldn’t serve on juries or say “no” to sex with their husbands. It wasn’t so long ago that women couldn’t vote.

That’s the kind of world they want to take us back to, John.
