John,

I have to be honest. My least favorite part of campaigning is fundraising. I would much rather be out connecting with voters and fighting for change. But my campaign is powered by the folks of Chicago, which means I'm relying on people like you to give what you can, whenever you can.

Unfortunately, one of my opponents has very, very deep pockets. He's cut his own campaign a check for $5 million, which is allowing him to run THREE different TV ads, more than SEVEN months out from Election Day.

That's why I'm reaching out now. Our campaign has the support of Chicago, but we have to compete against a self-funder.

Even $5 can make a big difference. Can I count on you to chip in now?

We're stronger together,

— Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot
