Hi John,
For years, Iranian Americans and Iranian Immigrants, have been subjected to discriminatory banking policies here at home in the United States.
Broad sanctions and policies like the Patriot Act have unjustly affected the lives of Iranian-Americans. These closures have impacted students far removed from financial support, families closing on a home or expecting a child, or even just friends paying each other back via mobile apps for Iranian food, the federal government needs to step in to better safeguard minority communities. As we press the Biden Administration and lawmakers for a policy fix, we are also supporting legal action against Bank of America that is moving forward.
Learn more in our latest memo, which explores why these outrageous and discriminatory closures happen and what we can do to stop them. Read it here.
Next month we’re setting up meetings with Members of Congress as they return home for August recess. Our allies and team are hard at work pressing policymakers over this issue and many others.
If you want to do more than just read our memo, sign up to join one of those in-district congressional meetings below.
Sign up for a meeting
Sincerely,
Ryan Costello
