John – Today, our democracy is facing attacks from all sides. As MAGA extremists continue spreading lies about the 2020 election, they're pushing dangerous laws through state legislatures that actually threaten our democracy and undermine the right to vote.

This year alone, 27 states have introduced at least 150 bills making it harder to vote – and 64% of Americans believe our democracy is “in crisis and at risk of failing.” Right now, we need Congress to take bold, decisive action to defend the right to vote and strengthen our democracy – but gridlock and partisanship are blocking any progress.

That's why it's so critical that we protect our Senate majority and elect strong candidates who will cut through the noise and get this legislation across the finish line. Trudy Busch Valentine, a former nurse and fourth-generation Missourian, will work her heart out to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. This bill will ensure that every voter has equal access to the ballot box. It will reduce the effects of partisan gerrymandering and remove many barriers that voters, particularly African Americans, face.
