John --

It’s been 13 full years since the federal government last raised the minimum wage. As prices continue to rise and inflation makes it more challenging for everyday Americans to put food on the table and afford other necessities, wages have failed to maintain the same standard of living.

While the U.S. Department of Labor recently raised minimum wage rates for employees who work federal contracts, every working American should be receiving better wages. 1 in 3 U.S. workers are still earning less than $15 an hour. This is unacceptable. Increasing the minimum wage will provide a raise to countless workers and restart the heart of local economies across the country.

Last year, Dwight was an original co-sponsor of the Raise The Wage Act to raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2025 gradually. And although the bill failed to gain traction, he's not done fighting to make it law.

Dwight needs to know your thoughts. Do you agree with Dwight that it's past time to raise the minimum wage and lift millions of workers out of poverty?

29 states and Washington, D.C., have higher minimum-wage rates than federal law. It's time for Pennsylvania – and America – to catch up!

No single person should be working a full-time job and still living in poverty – period. But right now, millions of workers in the United States are working jobs with low wages that keep them in poverty instead of rightfully lifting them out.

As we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and inflation continues to hurt working families, we need to offer a helping hand to the American people and pay people what they deserve.

It's time for action. It's time for a federal minimum wage of at least $15 an hour. Let Dwight know what you think: Should we raise the federal minimum wage?
