Dear Supporter,
We started hitting the doors back in early May, but now that session is over, we are really ramping up our door-knocking, going out at least three days a week, twice on weekday evenings and once on the weekend. We intend to keep this up all summer, adding two additional days to our canvassing calendar once folks are home from their summer vacations and the weather is a bit cooler--so probably mid-September. Many thanks to those who braved the punishing heat to join us for our three canvassing sessions last week!!

If you have ever considered door-knocking for a candidate, please consider joining us! We need volunteers to walk side by side with the dedicated bunch who have been coming regularly. If you have experience, we can send you out with a newcomer, and if you are a newcomer, we can send you out with an experienced canvasser.

Newcomers carry the clipboard and inform the knocker which house is next and who lives there. They also take notes while the knocker is talking and indicate whether the voter shows support, neutrality, or opposition. Often you are just marking "not home" and moving on to the next house with your partner. It's easy, it is great exercise, and you get to know lots of new people. Most importantly, you get the pulse of what is on the minds of voters which is valuable information for the campaign.

So if you are game, here are the details:
This week promises to be a little cooler than last, which will be a welcome relief.
We will be hitting the east side of the 4th Senate district on Tuesday, July 26th, Wednesday, July 27th, and Saturday, July 30th.
For all three canvasses, we will meet at the parking lot of the Hollywood Grill, 1811 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803.
Meeting times will be 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
Neighborhoods we are knocking include Fairfax, Devon, Devonshire, Edenridge, and Tavistock. Once we finish up those in the coming two weeks, we will head South and West to Pike Creek.
If you have any questions, you can call Ross Carey, my campaign manager, at 303-261-2028 or email him at [email protected]. Ross says calling or texting is the quickest way to get a response, though.
If you can't come this week but would like to have your name added to our canvassing email that we send out to volunteers each week, please let me know by emailing [email protected].
Laura
