I had a few minutes of free time right now, and it gave me a chance to reflect a bit about this race and what’s at stake for us. I know our campaign sends you a lot of emails, but I wanted to take a moment to send you a note with what’s on my mind — and why your support today is so important to our success.

Truthfully, I knew when we launched that it would not be easy. North Carolina consistently has some of the closest and most expensive Senate races anywhere in the country. And that’s exactly how this race has been shaping up since we clinched the nomination.

The $6 million outside GOP groups have already spent is just the tip of the iceberg. Their smear attacks have only just started, but we haven’t let them go unanswered. Together, we have proven that we are ready to fight for this seat — tirelessly. We won’t ignore the super PACs’ lies or my opponent’s out-of-touch agenda. We’ll take them head-on and make the case to the people of North Carolina that we can win a brighter future where our rights, democracy and planet are protected — and that is what our families deserve.

That’s never been more important than it is right now. As the former Chief Justice of North Carolina, I understand just how much higher the stakes are with our rights at risk - and politicians who seem dead set on rolling them back.

I stand firm in my commitment that, when we win this race together, I will not hesitate to cast the decisive vote to end the filibuster and defend our democracy, planet, voting rights, and reproductive freedom. That is the necessary and just action required to stand up to Washington and create a future where all of our kids have opportunities to thrive.

That is my promise to you, but I cannot do this alone. If we are going to flip this seat and expand our majority, it’s going to take a lot of grassroots support. So before our end-of-month deadline gets here, I need to ask:
