My family escaped communist Vietnam after my father was put on a kill list. And even coming here as a child, I knew that I was a part of something special.

I know what happens when freedoms are taken for granted

I know what happens without the freedoms we have here, and that made me never take America for granted. So I decided to do something to defend the country that gave me everything.

That’s why I attended the Naval Academy and spent my career fighting alongside special operations to keep America safe. Because without our military, our great country might not exist.

I may have hung up my uniform from combat, but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped doing everything I can to make this country as strong as it can be.
