Local State of Emergency Ending August 15
County Manager Mark Schwartz announced that the local state of emergency will end on August 15, starting the six month timeline for the expiration of the Temporary Outdoor Seating Areas (TOSAs). Over the next six months, Arlington County will be working to apply the lessons learned in a permanent outdoor dining study.
The Chamber has been an advocate for outdoor seating since the beginning of the pandemic, most recently asking the County to ensure there is no gap between the end of the TOSAs and the start of permanent standards. The Chamber will continue to engage on this matter to support our member restaurants and the broader community.
