On Friday we called on Attorney General Maura Healey to do something to protect the civil rights of our volunteer signature collectors.
These volunteers have been relentless working outside amid a sweltering heat wave, collecting as many signatures as needed to make sure Massachusetts voters get to decide this fall whether illegal aliens deserve state-issued driver's licenses.
These volunteers have been harassed, intimidate, and in at least one instance, have had their signature sheets torn apart by leftist "activists." The Massachusetts Constitution is explicit about the civil penalties people face if they interfere with signature collection efforts.
Healey has done nothing, much like U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland's handling of illegal demonstrations outside the homes of Supreme Court justices.
Never in my life has the office of the AG been as politicized as it has been under Maura Healey, and this is yet another reason why we cannot risk having this individual elevate herself to the governor's office.
Thankfully, our network of patriots are working around the clock to get this referendum on the ballot for November. Healey knows that if this issue goes before voters, it will drive them to the ballot box like nothing we've ever seen.
