Hello,

Three years ago, the House of Representatives passed the Raise the Wage Act, which would have raised the federal minimum wage for the first time since 2009.

Today, working families are still struggling to make ends meet, especially with the lingering economic effects of a global pandemic, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and gas company price gouging. The time for action is long overdue.

The Raise the Wage Act would finally raise the minimum wage to $15, raise the tipped minimum wage, and index annual increases to wage growth overall so that families would no longer be forced to choose between paying their rent and feeding their children. Bob was proud to co-sponsor the bill, but Senate Republicans blocked a vote.

Day after day, too many workers are working full shifts for wages so artificially low that they're forced to rely on public assistance to pay their rent, feed their children, afford necessary medication, and pay for childcare.

If we'd raised the minimum wage to a fair wage at any time since the last increase in 2009, these workers could not only make ends meet on their own -- they could invest more in themselves, their families, and our economy.

We can't go back, but we can take action now. An increase in the minimum wage will put more dollars into our communities at a time when our country is fighting to recover from the economic effects of COVID-19. We have to build public pressure to help make it happen.

Add your name now. Tell Senate Republicans to join Bob and fellow Democrats in supporting a minimum wage increase today.

Thank you,

Team Casey
