WE ARE MEETING
This Wednesday at NOON
Central Oklahoma Home Builders
GOVERNOR KEVIN STITT
debriefing at OCPAC
The Governor has signed key legislation supporting constitutional carry, the abolishment of abortion, and the essential nature of our churches.

One of the most important pieces of legislation he pushed for and signed was House Bill 1775 banning the teaching of the racist ideology promoted by the National Teachers Union (NEA) and its sister organization the OEA.

The Tulsa School District is currently under investigation for accusations of violations of HB 1775. Governor Kevin Stitt will discuss where Oklahoma is regarding our schools and our families.

Enforcement lies before us.
THE GOVERNOR ON HB 1775

Now more than ever we need policies that bring us together, not rip us apart,” he began his message. “I firmly believe that not one cent of taxpayer money should be used to define and divide young Oklahomans about their race or sex.

“We can and should teach this history without labeling a young child as an oppressor, or requiring he or she feel guilt or shame based on their race or sex.”
Hear his comments on HB 1775 here.

The Governor will be fielding
your questions this Wednesday.

BOB LINN
Hungary for Leadership
Next week, Hungary’s Prime Minister, Victor Orbán will be in Dallas speaking to CPAC.

It was ten years ago that Budapest writer, Hilary White, wrote about the comments made by the Hungarian Prime Minister in her article titled, “The Abandonment of Christian principles led to Europe’s economic crisis: Hungarian Prime Minister.”

Find it here.

She reports the Prime Minister as having said that:

Europe must return to Christianity before economic regeneration is possible, Prime Minister Victor Orbán of Hungary said at a conference last week. According to Orbán, the growing economic crisis in Europe is one that originates in the spiritual, not the economic order. To solve this crisis, he proposed a renewal of culture and politics based on Christian values to save Europe from economic, moral, and social collapse.
Orbán stated that:

The European Crisis has not come by chance but by the carelessness and neglect of their responsibilities by leaders who have questioned precisely those Christian roots.

It is long past time that the pulpits of America return to the Biblical presupposition which resonates from beginning to end of the word of God. That presupposition stated so succinctly in Psalm 33:12:

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

That Biblical presupposition was just as thematically central in the sermons of our founding clergy as it was in the political speech of our founding statesmen.

Living as we do in ubiquitous swell of the
Frankfurt School’s very secular Marxist voices;
we have become insecure in our footing.

It is why former President of the Italian Senate, Marcello Pera, wrote Why We Should Call Ourselves Christians.

OPERATION EVACUATE DUNKIRK
SAVING CHRISTIAN CIVILIZATION
Neither Europe nor America would exist today as we do were it not for the strength of Winston Churchill. He faced with unflinching determination what appeared to be certain doom. His leadership and call to prayer foiled the German troops poised to achieve complete victory over British, French, Dutch, Polish, and Belgian troops backed to the English Channel at Dunkirk.
Speaking to the House of Commons on June 18, 1940, Churchill spoke with great force and a commanding clarity of purpose when he said:

Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands.  But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science.
Less than a month later, on July 14, 1940, he stated:

We are not fighting for ourselves alone. Here in this strong City of Refuge which enshrines the title-deeds of human progress and is of deep consequence to Christian Civilization.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, September 1, 1941 echoed Churchill:

Preservation of these rights is vitally important now, not only to us who enjoy them -- but to the whole future of Christian civilization.
We find ourselves in a moment of history where the forces of darkness have found their way into more than our institutions of government and education. They have entered the pulpits and pews of our American churches as well.

The massive transformation of the American cultural landscape was no more evident than when Barak Obama moved into the White House in 2009. He immediately removed the bust of Winston Churchill.

The Churchill bust returned on
January 29, 2017 ... that was
the first day President Donald Trump
began to preside over our national affairs.

Whether the bust has since survived the notice of Biden, I cannot say. I can say we are at a moment of profound consequence in history. It is a moment which will penetrate far into the future of mankind.

As I noted last week in my comments about actors Kevin and Sam Sorbo, there are strong signs of national renewal.

On the home front, Oklahoma's Governor Kevin Stitt fervently and regularly prays for wisdom. He has overseen many positive accomplishments.

Our legislature is graced with a strong group of Christian legislators who come together regularly to pray for guidance for them and for the state.

Oklahoma’s new GOP chairman, A.J. Ferate, wrote the legal brief which argued the case for coach Joe Kennedy to be able, on “public school property” to kneel before the Lord Jesus Christ and thank him for His hand of protection.
Oklahoma’s Secretary of Education, Ryan Walters, speaks often of the primacy of our Christian faith and values. He intends to continue that as he works to return authority presiding over Oklahoma’s children to the children's parents as Oklahoma's next Superintendent of Education.

The essential nature of Ryan Walters’ commitment to the restoration of family sovereignty in education is conspicuous in this 1949 UNESCO statement:

“It is frequently the family which infects the child … the school should therefore use the means described earlier to combat family attitudes.”
That this ideology has become foundational in the American classroom was on display a week or so ago when the national teacher’s union met in Chicago to object to everything that Christian parents espouse. See last week’s OCPAC newsletter report here.

On May 10, 1983, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn received the Templeton Foundation’s Prize for Progress in Religion. In the lecture he quoted a phrase he had heard from a number of older folks in Russia who said of the devastation communism had wrought on Russia, “Men have forgotten God, that is why all this devastation has happened.”
He went on to quote Russia’s greatest writer, Fyodor Dostoevsky, who warned that “great events could come upon us and catch us intellectually unprepared.”

To say that America is standing flat-footed from its pulpits to its state houses to its institutions of industry and higher learning would be an understatement. The nations of the world have testified to the impact of disconnecting Biblical theology from our cultural foundations as we have witnessed the economic and humanitarian ravages of atheism and its Marxist ideologies.

Electing Ryan Walters, a Godly advocate for parental authority in Oklahoma education, as Oklahoma’s next Superintendent of Schools is a clear point of beginning. And on that level, the work of OCPAC’s Reed Downey with School Board 4 Kids is indispensable.

God has placed us here at this unique moment not to complain but to engage and I appreciate that you all are doing just that.

Come Wednesday and be encouraged!

JAMES LANKFORD
CHALLENGES NEA
Around half of Oklahoma's teachers still retain membership in the national teacher's union known as the NEA (National Educators Association). The local affiliate is the OEA. Because Oklahoma is a right to work state, there is no need for our teachers to retain this membership unless they like supporting the far leftist agenda it represents, including the Democrat Party.

We spoke of their radical agenda in last week's newsletter.

Find those comments here.

Last week, Senator Lankford joined with a group of other Senators to challenge the plan announced last week by the NEA to spend $140,000 to acquire detailed information on organizations who oppose the NEA's anti-American agenda rooted in the Critical Race Theory of the Marxist Frankfort School.

Find the Senator's letter to the NEA here.

When the opportunity arises, have a discussion with a teacher you know who remains in the NEA/OEA union. If it is the insurance, the Professional Oklahoma Educators (POE) provides greater coverage for less cost. (They do not fund leftist causes.)
LAST WEEK AT THE
OKC CITY COUNSEL
For two and a half hours, forty-two citizens spoke at the meeting. Of these, thirty-five spoke against the ordinance and only seven spoke in favor.

Regrettably, the Human Rights Commission passed 5-4 with Mayor David Holt casting the deciding "yes" vote.

Four members of the counsel remained steadfast to common sense and opposed the proposal. For their voice on the counsel, you may thank Mark Stonecipher, Barbara Young, David Greenwell, and Bradley Carter.
