Gregory Coll Republican Candidate for the United States House of Representatives Comments on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics STEM

As many of you know, STEM stands for education in “science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.” A lot of focus has been made to get girls and minorities into STEM. This is absolutely essential, though it’s necessary for all students. We need to make sure that all children are prepared to succeed, for their future, and that of America’s. To do this we need to implement science at a very young age. As you can see in the photos, I, Gregory Coll, believe in doing this with my own children. This is evidenced by these pictures: one at the Air and Space Museum and the other with the James Webb Space Telescope while it was at Goddard Space Flight Center here in Maryland. Not all children have the resources of a rocket scientist as a father, though sending me to Congress will put a solid supporter for all children to have the same opportunities my own children do in STEM. STEM can and should be implemented as early as posable including in preschool. Children who are exposed to math and science early are not afraid of them later in life. Whether you are a rocket scientist, just like me, or the manager of a theater or a restaurant, understanding math and understanding the scientific principles that keep food safe or help businesses keep up with technology is also part of why STEM is important. I, Gregory Coll, want an America where every child can understand technology and where America is the leader in technology around the world. I, Gregory Coll, want a Maryland where we retain great public schools and give parents choices when those schools aren’t as great as they should be.
