Folks, did you know that supporting all three House races here in New Mexico could help make the difference between expanding or losing our Democratic House majority? Here’s why the path to holding the majority runs straight through New Mexico: Gabe Vasquez is a first-generation American and conservationist running to flip New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District blue and deliver on climate action, lowering everyday costs for New Mexicans, and expanding access to quality, affordable health care for all. This is a true toss-up race — a Democrat won in NM-02 as recently as 2018. But Gabe needs solid grassroots support to unseat far-right Rep. Yvette Herrell. The GOP will spend anything to keep Herrell in this seat — they can count on her to keep undermining the integrity of our elections, attacking reproductive rights, and voting against marriage equality and necessary reforms like capping the price of insulin. Teresa Leger Fernandez is a seventeenth-generation New Mexican running for re-election in New Mexico’s newly redrawn 3rd District. The GOP is already pouring in money to flip her seat in this highly competitive race. We need to keep Teresa’s voice in the House to protect our majority so she can continue her work for New Mexico’s families, lands, and waters. Melanie Stansbury is a scientist, educator, and proven champion for New Mexico families running for re-election in New Mexico’s 1st District. We can’t take anything for granted — this is a historically red district that I flipped blue for the first time back in 2008. Melanie knows that reproductive rights and our last real chance to invest in tackling climate change are on the ballot this November. We need to make sure she has the support to make it across the finish line. Republicans only need to flip four seats this fall to take back the House. That’s why we need to win every single seat in New Mexico to help defend our majority.
