John, I’ve worn a lot of hats throughout my life: daughter, friend, fiancée, public health professional, State Representative, candidate for Congress, just to name a few. But today I’m reaching out to discuss one identity that I don’t get to talk about very often: my life as a gymnast. Growing up, I loved competitive gymnastics. Afternoons, evenings, weekends, weekdays, and summers during my childhood were largely spent at the gym. Gymnastics was not an easy sport, but I pushed myself to work hard during practices and competitions. With the help of my family and coaches, I rose through the ranks in the gymnastics world. I was an Ohio state champion in vault and I even competed for the AAU National Team in the Junior Olympics! Looking back, I learned a lot from my time as a competitive gymnast. The sport helped me become strong (both literally and figuratively), tough, and brave. Because, let's be honest: backflipping through the air requires a lot of inner strength and mental toughness. Above all, gymnastics showed me the importance of hard work and taught me to never give up on something I’m fighting for. John, while I have since left behind my time as a gymnast, that experience has provided me with the tenacity, grit, bravery, and perseverance I need to fight for my home – the birthplace of champions – in Congress. Look, I am prepared and eager to keep OH-13 blue and fight for the people of Northeast Ohio in Congress, but I need your support to get there. John, could you chip in $5 to our campaign today?
