A Trump-endorsed, insurrectionist extremist just won the GOP primary for Maryland governor – by double digits. Here’s why we’re worried:

He’s a Trump loyalist and election-denier – he worked as a volunteer lawyer to fight the 2020 election results, parroted Trump’s Big Lie, and earned his endorsement.
He’s associated himself with QAnon and other right-wing extremist groups, even sharing his support for them over social media.
He’s a full-fledged insurrectionist – Cox chartered three buses to the “Stop the Steal” rally on Jan 6th and called Mike Pence a “traitor” on Twitter.

In short, he’s a complete disgrace.

Unfortunately, it’s not just him. Right now, we’re seeing right-wing candidates secure primary victories across the country– extremist candidates like Doug Mastriano and Dan Cox are empowering insurrectionist Republicans and their enablers up-and-down the ballot.

With hundreds of insurrection enablers on the state legislative ballot this November, we need to take action now to stop them from gaining any more momentum – if we don’t, our democracy could be at risk.
