"False Flag" disinformation instead ends up hurting the grieving families of victims and deepening distrust.
John,
Widespread claims of “false flags” have now become common occurrences soon after mass shootings. We saw it leap from the fringe of social media after Buffalo, Uvalde, and then Highland Park to the social media of prominent politicians like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
“False flag” claims attempt to frame a mass shooting as an organized attempt by Democrats to advance gun control legislation. There is, however, no evidence to support this claim. This disinformation instead ends up hurting the grieving families of victims and deepening distrust.
