I’ve spent my life serving our country. It’s integral to who I am.
I was raised to believe that the opportunity to serve is a privilege and that dedicating oneself to community is an honor.

My service in the military and in the CIA took me all around the world in service to our country.
I knew that protecting America meant putting myself in danger — like on dead-of-night helicopter flights through enemy fire into some of the most hostile areas. I did it because I was well aware that the mission was so much greater than myself.
Now, I’m not risking my life running for Congress. I don’t have to carry a Glock this time around. But our race is an incredible challenge nonetheless — and it’s a mission every bit as important as those I undertook abroad.
