In Somalia right now, children are starving to death – a very painful, very slow death.  

They are dying at the hands of Vladimir Putin.

You might be thinking, “Come on, Richard, you can't blame all of the world's atrocities on Putin,” but I’m not doing that. Let me explain what I mean.

Ukraine is one of the world's largest exporters of grains like barley, corn and wheat. Developing nations like Somalia rely on these grains to feed their malnourished populations. Putin and his army have blocked off trade routes from Ukrainian ports, so they can't get grain to the people who need it the most.

Putin, of course, knows this – his actions are deliberate. 

Putin doesn’t care if the world's poorest children suffer and starve. In fact, if he can falsely blame their cruel deaths on Ukraine and NATO (and he will), he wants them to starve. He will do whatever it takes to win this war, and he doesn't care how many children die along the way. 

History will remember Putin the same way it remembers Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin: A bloodthirsty monster who killed millions in pursuit of power. Ultimately, they all failed in their quests for world domination, and Putin will fail, too. Unfortunately, just like them, he’s going to do a lot of damage first.

Now, let's shift the focus back home a bit and talk about how Putin has successfully infiltrated our U.S. Congress. 

Remember, Putin threatened to wage war against any nation in the vicinity of Russia that seeks to join NATO … but that didn’t work as quite the deterrent he had hoped, because Sweden and Finland asked to join pretty much immediately after he made the threat.

Now, the member countries of NATO, including the United States, have accepted their request, and the process is underway. 

Here in the U.S., Congress had to authorize our vote in favor of adding Sweden and Finland to NATO.

The proposal passed with overwhelming support from Democrats and Republicans alike … 

… with just a few exceptions. 

Turns out the members of the KKK Caucus – or the Treason Caucus, depending on what day it is – decided to vote “no” to Sweden and Finland joining NATO. 

So, we need to ask ourselves: Why would Matt “The Pedophile” Gaetz, Lauren “Breitbart” Boebert, and Marjorie “Trainwreck” Greene oppose adding more European allies to NATO? 

Could it be that they were commanded to do so by Putin? 

I mean, why else would they vote “no?” Where is the incentive there? The only thing that makes sense is that they were ordered to by Putin, and because they’re treasonous worms, they obeyed. 

Folks, this is serious – we have Trojan horses in the halls of Congress who appear to have sworn allegiance to a country other than the United States of America. Every move they make and every word that comes out of their mouths is aimed at destroying our country. 

We must remove them from office and send a message to Putin that the United States is not for sale. 

This situation isn’t just dangerous for the United States, it’s dangerous for the whole world. Having fascist apologists inside the government of the world’s most powerful country threatens the freedom and well-being of everyone on the planet.

Our influence on the world is stronger than that of any other nation in the history of civilization. The decisions we make have ramifications far beyond our borders. We’ve seen how the Right has shifted radically toward authoritarian fascism. A “no” vote on agreeing to defend our allies from an authoritarian dictator with expansionist ambitions throws up more red flags than a Moscow parade!

The treason caucus looks at this move as just one more step toward the tyrannical future they so desperately want. They want to normalize dictatorships and question the value of our rights and freedoms while slowly moving forward, knives hidden behind their backs, to kill American democracy and replace it with absolute power for themselves and their cronies.

We can’t allow that to happen – not just for our own sake, but for the sake of the whole world. For all of our current problems, America has led the way when it comes to democracy and freedom. If we fall to fascism, many more will follow.  

Humanity is a common thread.  Let me tell you from experience, we have so much more in common than we have differences.

Political power belongs in the hands of the people, not corrupt, power-hungry thugs like Putin and the Treason Caucus … and America must remain a beacon of freedom and justice for the world, not a breeding ground for tyrants.
