When I was President of Planned Parenthood, I saw firsthand how far extreme right-wing politicians were willing to go to roll back our rights. I warned for years about their plan not just to overturn Roe, but if given the chance, to pass a national abortion ban.

Sadly, that is the reality we’re facing right now with Senate candidates like Ted Budd in North Carolina, who has said he supports a total ban on abortion without exceptions — not even for rape, incest or the health of the mother.

Republican insiders like Ted Budd want folks like you and me to sit down, shut up and do nothing as Washington Republicans roll back our constitutional rights. They want us to believe that we cannot fight back – or march forward – because they know that they are no match for the power of the people if we act together.

It’s our job to prove them wrong — to show them that we’re not giving up or throwing in the towel. And the best way for us to do that right now is to show up to support Cheri Beasley.
