We have some exciting news to start the week! Governor Deval Patrick will be coming *this Friday night* to close our program! Doors will open at 5pm to enter the event. Our speaking program will begin promptly at 6pm.
Gov. Deval Patrick grew up on the South Side of Chicago and when he was a teenager, he earned a scholarship to Milton Academy outside of Boston. After graduating from Harvard College and Law School, Gov. Patrick went to work for the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund and he got his start in public life when President Clinton appointed him Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. In 2006, Deval was elected Governor of Massachusetts, becoming the second African American governor in our country’s history. He served two terms as governor of the Commonwealth, where, by the end of his term, Massachusetts ranked first in the nation in energy efficiency, first in health care coverage, and first in student achievement.
