John, I have a quick 15 minutes between meetings, so I want to make sure you saw our last update.

These days, our shared purpose and connectedness in the Emerge sisterhood matters more than ever. That’s why I’m traveling as much as I can to support our state affiliates, alums, and engage our incredible Emerge community. Together, we can charge forward and change the direction of our country.

And the success of this work depends on all of us. So I’m asking you to chip in and help fuel Emerge’s efforts today. Can we count on you to give $5 or more to help power our programs and help bold Democratic women run for office and win in November?

Subject: On the road with A'shanti

Hi John,

We’re reaching out with a quick update on the work Emerge President A’shanti Gholar has been doing this summer to support our alums, build the Emerge community, and inspire Democratic women across the country to transform politics at every level.

A’shanti traveled to Georgia for a special #LeadersMatter salon with voting rights champion and Democratic nominee for governor, Stacey Abrams. The message: It’s our responsibility to rise to the occasion and take action to protect our essential rights – and we have the tools and strategy to do so.

Also, in a timely kick-off event to the Texas Democratic Convention, A’shanti presented Emerge’s strategy to build power and real representation in Southern states. Communities in Texas, Georgia, and all across the South are on the front lines of our fight to transform politics – bearing the brunt of some of the most egregious far-right policies, but also organizing fiercely to win a more just future for us all. And Emerge women are leading the charge.

Then she connected with Colorado state representative and proud Emerge alum, Leslie Herod, who has been fighting for community priorities such as real public safety, accessible health care, and more. The Emerge sisterhood is strong because of champions like Rep. Herod and the support network we’re building together nationwide.

And earlier, A’shanti attended the Onward Together convening with none other than former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton! We’re proud to partner with Onward Together to uplift Democratic trailblazers and build lasting power this November.

We have a lot of work ahead to win the political transformation we deserve. But make no mistake: Our president, A'shanti; Emerge women; and our community are ready to lead, and we’re on our way to victory.

If you haven’t yet, please join this important work by donating to Emerge today. Every dollar helps expand our proven effective programs to recruit, train, and elect Democratic women up and down the ballot in every state.
