The Washington Post is reporting that “The battle for democracy is an endless game of whack-a-mole” – meaning that Republicans keep coming up with new, creative ways to undermine it, so we must keep coming up with ways to fight back.

“[G]uaranteeing voting rights will require a multi-pronged, well-planned effort… Focus on state legislative races rather than quixotic campaigns against high-profile national Republicans you don’t like. In places where state supreme court justices run for election, pay attention to those races as well.”]

This is exactly what the NDRC is doing this election year! Part of our plan to defend democracy and prevent gerrymandering and voter suppression is to zero in on supporting Democrats who will champion fair elections in key states. We recently announced our 17 initial Democracy Target states and a list of endorsements among gubernatorial, secretary of state, and state auditor candidates!
