Team, I wanted to bring an issue to your attention that hits close to home.

Major League Baseball has proposed cutting 42 Minor League teams -- including our local Red Sox-affiliate, the Lowell Spinners.

Stripping communities that rely on tickets, events, foot-traffic, and merchandise from their local teams would have rippling impacts on local economies, and deprive our kids of the cultural benefits these teams bring.

That's why I've teamed up with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to create the "Save Minor League Baseball Task Force" -- to encourage MLB executives to keep investing in communities across the country. Now, I need your help to ramp up the pressure.

From Massachusetts to West Virginia, losing minor league teams would be devastating to our communities. Join me in calling on baseball executives to save our teams and protect our local economies by adding your name.

On top of giving aspiring athletes their shot at making it professionally, teams like the Spinners provide a boost to the local economy and give families an opportunity to experience baseball that they might not have otherwise.

Not everyone can make it to Fenway Park to see a game, and affordable baseball like the Spinners has become such an important part of the fabric that makes up our hometown.

This is deeply personal to me. Teams like the Lowell Spinners hang in the balance because of this decision, which is why I've decided to speak up and advocate for change. Can I count on you to join me?
