"Supreme Court leaves in place Kentucky abortion restriction"
-Reuters, 12/09/19

John --

Earlier today, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to listen to women and doctors and allowed a harmful law in Kentucky to remain in effect.

The Kentucky law requires doctors to perform medically unnecessary tests on women seeking an abortion -- even if the woman objects. It humiliates them and violates their right to consent.

With the future of Roe v. Wade at stake, we must stand with Planned Parenthood as we work to defeat Dan Sullivan, who has confirmed extreme, anti-choice nominees like Brett Kavanaugh. Please rush a donation to our campaign and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund right now.

Here's what doctors who challenged the Kentucky law say it requires them to do:

"While the patient is half-naked on the exam table with her feet in stirrups, usually with an ultrasound probe inside her vagina, the physician has to keep talking to her, showing her images and describing them, even as she tries to close her eyes and cover her ears to avoid the speech."

As a doctor, I find this law abhorrent on so many levels.

It violates the doctor-patient relationship, it humiliates women, and it could cause serious psychological harm -- especially to survivors of rape and incest. It's wrong on so many levels.

Dan Sullivan has made it clear that he will continue to confirm extreme judicial nominees who want to attack reproductive healthcare and roll back Roe v. Wade.

I won't stand for that. I'm a doctor, and I'll fight alongside women, medical professionals, and allies like Planned Parenthood to defend women's rights and patient's rights.

I'll be a U.S. Senator who fights to make healthcare, including reproductive care, affordable and accessible to all. And you can be sure that I'll protect your right to keep deeply personal medical decisions between you, your family, and your doctor.

We can't wait until the next election to fight back. We have unite now. Please rush an urgent donation of $5 or more to our campaign and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

Thank you,

Dr. Al Gross
