Last night, Arati joined a vigil on the 7th anniversary of Sandy Hook calling for stronger gun laws.

NorthJersey.com reports Arati’s call to action last night in Paramus, NJ:

[Arati Kreibich] on Sunday called for bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, a nationwide licensing program for gun owners and research investments in gun violence.

"We know what needs to be done," she said. "We know what we're up against."

Kreibich's son was 6 at the time of the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut in 2012 — the same age as the student victims, she said. The continued threat of gun violence, she added, "scares the hell out of me" and "shames me."

The NRA has spent millions of dollars to stop Congress from passing gun reforms that bipartisan majorities of Americans support, like universal background checks.

Thanks for standing up.
