Folks, this email is a little longer than usual, so I hope you’ll bear with me—I feel it’s important I tell you a bit about why I chose to run for Senate in the first place.

Having spent my entire life in Ohio, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when politics doesn’t work for hardworking families: jobs are sent out of state or out of the country, extremist politicians focus on whatever culture war is trending that day, and the costs of things like education, health care, and housing continue to rise while wages remain stagnant.

That’s why I chose a life of public service: I want to help working families because I’m part of one. My wife is a public school teacher and we’re raising a family while paying off a mortgage and student loans.

So many families face these same challenges and more—but there are too many elected officials in the pockets of special interests, so it’s really no wonder why things aren’t improving for everyday people.

And that’s why I’m running for Senate—because hardworking folks in Ohio and around the country deserve elected officials who will go to the mat fighting for them, and I promise you, that’s exactly what you’ll get from me.

I know we can win, folks, because we’ve got the grassroots support of more than 150,000 people that are ready to flip Ohio blue and fight for representation that actually represents them, and puts people over politics.
