Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update

Good Afternoon,

This week, I remained in Washington, D.C. for a series of votes in the U.S. House of Representatives! It was a pleasure to meet with Lucid Motors, located in the great state of Arizona, to discuss issues that they are currently facing in the electric vehicle industry and future projects that they are working on.

I had a fantastic time test driving Lucid Motors' electric vehicle. Arizona is proud to be home to this innovative electric vehicle company.

In the News

I want to make sure that you don’t miss a minute of what I’m doing to fight for Arizonans each and every day. Check out my latest interview below.

One America News Network

I joined One America News to talk about how President Biden could solve the border crisis overnight by reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy. Plus, I discussed how Democrats are pushing soft-on-crime policies while trying to take away law-abiding citizens’ ability to defend themselves. WATCH:

Lesko Opposes Taxpayer Funding for Chemical Abortion Pills

House Democrats’ Payouts for Planned Parenthood Act forces taxpayers to fund abortions and expands the use of chemical abortion pills that can cause excessive bleeding, pain, and death.

This bill is about one thing only: lining the pockets of the abortion lobby.

House Energy and Commerce Committee

House Democrats don’t want you to know the truth. Chemical abortion pills pose a life-threatening risk to mothers and their unborn babies, and the vast majority of abortions are elective. Watch my remarks in the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations below:

I also spoke in the House Energy and Commerce Committee to raise concerns about China’s ability to spy on Americans through the electrical appliances that we use in our everyday lives. Americans’ privacy must be protected from the Chinese Communist Party! Watch my full remarks below:

Additionally, I raised concerns that Big Tech companies and the CDC are infringing on Americans’ privacy and collecting people’s locations and personal data. Americans should have full control over their own private, personal information. Watch my full remarks in the House Energy and Commerce Committee below:

Lesko Stands Up for Arizona Builders

sent a letter to Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm to urge the Department of Energy to postpone its deadline for the new HVAC energy efficiency requirements. This would provide Arizona builders with a new, more workable deadline.

Lesko Introduces Legislation to Reform Energy Conservation Standards for Electrical Appliances

I introduced the DOE Appliance and Equipment Standards Reform and Consumer Protection Act to allow the Secretary of Energy to update energy conservation standards for electric appliances and remove standards that have made appliances less efficient and more costly to consumers.

GET THE FACTS: Inflation Hits 9.1% in June

As you may have heard, the inflation rate spiked to 9.1% in June and has been at or above 5% for 14 straight months. In Phoenix, the inflation rate in June rose to 12.3%. This inflation rate is at a 40-year high and is creating a significant financial burden for Americans across the nation. 75% of Americans say that inflation is the most important economic problem facing their families. It is shameful that President Biden and House Democrats' failures have created this economic crisis. Instead of working with Republicans to fix it, House Democrats are pushing legislation that spends even more money, which will only increase the inflation rates even further. The numbers don't lie. Americans cannot afford failed, one-party Democrat rule.

A constituent contacted us after being unable to obtain diabetic testing strips through both Medicare and his physician. The constituent had been trying for a resolution for nearly six months prior to contacting our office. Our office was able to work with Medicare to correct this error, and the constituent received his testing strips a week later.

Encouraging Story

I am pleased to share this story about Arizona State University's INSPIRE Summer Camp, which helps Native American high school students explore careers in health-related fields. This is a great way to ensure that Arizona's Native American community is exposed to a variety of career options to find the career of their dreams.
