I hope you saw our earlier email about Greg Abbott’s wholly underwhelming response to the recent investigation into systemic failings of the Uvalde Police Department (it’s forwarded below).
The real truth is, the failure starts all the way at the very top — with Greg Abbott himself.
Don’t forget: Abbott could call a special session right now to investigate the serious failings in Uvalde. He could take immediate action. But he can’t be bothered.
In fact, he couldn’t be bothered to attend a single funeral for any of the 19 children or two teachers killed in Uvalde. Not one.
That’s all the proof we need, y’all. He doesn’t see the governorship as a way to actually make any real difference in Texans’ lives — he sees it as a way to bolster himself and his own career.
He has no compassion, and he has no place as our governor.
