I wanted to make sure that you saw this email the NM Democrats sent out earlier this week. There is no room for any doubt now, Mark Ronchetti would ban all abortion in New Mexico if he had the chance. Not only that, Ronchetti opposes insurance coverage for emergency contraceptives like Plan B. Take it from Pastor Steve, Mark Ronchetti would decimate reproductive rights and the right to choose in New Mexico.

Here’s the proof - Mark Ronchetti has been lying since he won the GOP gubernatorial nomination and subsequently started saying he wants to find a “middle ground” on banning abortion in New Mexico. Pastor Steve Smothermon says it himself: Mark Ronchetti plans to ban all abortion in New Mexico and is lying to voters because he knows that’s his only chance to compete in this election. “He said 'listen, I just want to start with getting rid of partial birth abortion in the whole state,' which we should be happy with. And he said 'but I can't just go in and do it all 100 percent because we won't ever get elected.' ...But his goal would be to end abortion in New Mexico, just so you know. You say how do I know that, because I talked to him for hours." -Pastor Steve Smothermon recalling his conversation with Mark Ronchetti 

The conversation between Pastor Steve and Mark Ronchetti proves that Ronchetti will say whatever it takes to trick voters into supporting him. He knows his position on abortion is too extreme to be accepted by everyday New Mexicans, so he openly admitted to Pastor Steve that his campaign's stance is a farce. 

With the future of reproductive rights in New Mexico on the line, our Party needs your support so we can mobilize Democrats across the state to make sure we elect our pro-choice Democrats up and down the ballot.

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham led the way to repeal New Mexico’s outdated state law that outlawed abortion, which protects access to abortions in our state after the June 24th US Supreme Court’s decision reversing the protections of Roe v. Wade. Our Governor also recently signed an executive order that protects individuals who receive or provide abortion care in New Mexico from other states’ anti-choice laws which would criminalize them. 

We need support from Democrats like you to make sure voters know that Democratic leaders like our Governor will fight to protect safe and accessible abortion and everyone’s right to choose. We need you to join our fight to defend choice in New Mexico.
