A personal message from Terri Sewell:
Folks, I am humbled and honored to have been elected the first Black woman elected to represent Alabama in Congress.
I want to tell you about the duty I have to represent the nation’s Civil Rights district, but first, will you chip in $15 to my re-election campaign so I can continue to serve the people of Alabama?

I’m a 3rd generation Selmian, and the history and struggles of Alabama’s Black Belt are a part of my DNA.
I grew up in the shadow of the sacrifices made by the Foot Soldiers of the Voting Rights Movement — and as the representative of the nation’s Civil Rights District, I’m proud to fight every day in Congress to build on the progress that has come before me.
Trust me when I say, I do not take this responsibility lightly.
I have worked tirelessly to continue forging the path to equity for all — from combating discrimination against marginalized communities to protecting and expanding voting rights for every American.
As we’re seeing old battles become new again, I draw on the spirit of Alabama’s Black Belt, and the knowledge that together, we can continue to challenge this nation to live up to the ideals it was founded on.
Folks, there is unfinished business of the Civil Rights Movement, and as the representative of Alabama’s Black Belt, I’m determined to carry the baton and continue the fight for progress. Will you join me and chip in $15 or more to support my campaign?
