This goes far beyond just expanding healthcare. It’s about tackling the social problems that send non-violent offenders to prison in the first place.

Right now, there are over 2 million adults in our country that are currently incarcerated. And each of those two million people lives without access to quality healthcare.

Even though jails are required to provide care to inmates, the quality they provide isn’t comprehensive and doesn’t begin to touch major concerns like addiction and mental health treatment. We’re creating a patchwork quilt of coverage and our communities are suffering because of it.

By providing necessary care to one of the most vulnerable populations, we can develop healthier and stronger communities. Add your name to my petition today if you believe that it’s time to end the cycle of incarceration by giving Medicare access back to those who need it the most.

This goes far beyond just expanding healthcare. It’s about tackling the social problems that send non-violent offenders to prison in the first place.

It may seem like these issues aren’t connected, but here are the facts: by providing mental health counseling, substance abuse and addiction programs to those in jail, recidivism rates drop. All the while we have the opportunity to shift away costs from our local communities.

Now is our chance to give people the opportunity to reach their full potential.

ADD YOUR NAME: Sign on if you believe in ending the vicious cycle that keeps people in prison and leaves them without the care they need outside bars. Let’s give back Medicare to our justice-involved population!

Thanks for making your voice heard.
