After overturning Roe v. Wade and robbed millions of our personal freedoms and bodily autonomy, the ultraconservative Supreme Court majority made it clear that this was just the beginning of their far-right agenda.

Debating same-sex marriage in the year 2022 seems preposterous — we know.

But with Senators like Ted Cruz saying the Supreme Court was “clearly wrong” in its 2015 decision to legalize same-sex marriage, Barbara and her colleagues in the House aren’t leaving anything to chance.

That’s why they passed the Respect for Marriage Act this week: a bill to recognize same-sex marriages at the federal level and get ahead of a potential ruling by the right-wing Supreme Court.

They then passed the Right to Contraception Act to guarantee access to birth control, because no settled precedent is off limits to this rogue Court majority.

Barbara is putting her body on the line for bodily autonomy and personal freedoms — going so far as getting arrested at an abortion rights protest — and putting in the work in Congress as Co-Chair of the House Pro-Choice Caucus to deliver legislative solutions amidst these far-right attacks.
