1) Bernie Sanders is Right And 16 Senate Republicans Are Dead WRONG
No, this headline is not a misprint. Bernie is an avowed Democratic socialist, who we almost never agree with. But at least HE knows a shakedown of taxpayers when he sees it.
Sanders voted no on the $250 billion corporate welfare bill that will come up for another final vote early next week. On the Senate floor he denounced America’s semiconductor CEOs for “extortion,” and then he rightly criticized his Senate colleagues for paying the bribe.
A few days before the Senate vote, Intel CEO Gelsinger threatened that he will move jobs and facilities to Europe or Asia unless taxpayers write his industry a check for $52 billion. And then he has the audacity to question the patriotism of taxpayers and members of Congress who dare oppose paying the bribe.
Yet 16 Senate Repubs and 48 Democrats chose Intel over taxpayers. We wonder if this is just about bringing dollars back to their states or whether they actually believe that adding $250 billion to the federal budget and debt is going to IMPROVE American competitiveness and hurt China.

It’s a sad day for the country and the GOP when an avowed socialist can see how preposterous this argument in favor of Aid for Dependent Corporations (AFDC) is, but a gang of self-described fiscal conservative Republicans don’t.

2) TX Governor Abbott: Chief Lobbyist for Samsung
It’s not just the 16 GOP senators who voted yes on the corporate welfare bill that has made us cringe. TX Governor Greg Abbott is boasting of all the jobs this bill will create in the Lone Star State – with your and our money.

3) The Definition Of Greed
From the great Thomas Sowell:
Someone pointed out that blaming economic crises on “greed” is like blaming plane crashes on gravity. Certainly, planes wouldn’t crash if it weren’t for gravity. But when thousands of planes fly millions of miles every day without crashing, explaining why a particular plane crashed because of gravity gets you nowhere.
Neither does talking about “greed,” which is constant like gravity.

We hope Joe Biden is paying attention.
4) Bloomberg Applauds High Gas Prices As A Savior Of The Planet
We’ve said this only about a thousand times on these pages: the left WANTS high gas prices. So I guess we will at least congratulate Bloomberg for admitting the truth. And by the way, if $5 gas is good, then isn’t $6 or $10 a gallon even better?

5) What Emergency?
Even with the latest ultra-mild COVID variant, Joe's feeling fine and putting in a normal workday.

That's great news.
The White House spokesman said at a press conference that the staff knew the president would eventually be infected, but they didn't know where he was exposed. This is a quadruple-vaxed, perpetually masked, hyper-access-controlled man, who is only ever in the room with people who have tested negative. If HIS exposure was inevitable then so is everybody else's, meaning all the lockdowns, mandates, contact quarantines, and restrictions on kids are for nothing.
So why in the world did he extend the COVID national emergency last week? Maybe after a couple of sniffly days of mild COVID, he'll reconsider and terminate the emergency?
6) End of the Line for the Economy
