So it’s up to us

Friend,

“This case is not complicated, but it is important.”

Yesterday, Steve Bannon was found guilty by a jury of his peers for contempt of Congress.

Before the trial, Bannon threatened to go “medieval” and pull whatever tricks he could to weasel his way out of accountability. But by the time the trial was over, it was clear that his defense was as flimsy as Trump’s attempts to challenge the 2020 election results in court. He called no witnesses on his behalf, and the judge thoroughly rejected his legal gimmicks.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Molly Gaston summed it up best, There is nothing political about figuring out why January 6th happened, and how to make sure it never happens again. And there is nothing political about enforcing the law against someone who, like the defendant, flouts it.

Now, the Department of Justice needs to set its sights on the rest of the Trump operatives refusing to participate in the January 6th Committee investigation. With today’s verdict, we’ve got one down, but there are many more to go.

Add your name if you agree: EVERY witness subpoenaed by the January 6th Committee must tell the American people what they know about the insurrection or face jail time.
