On Thursday, Governor Walz met with state law enforcement officials to highlight the state?s work to combat crime and gun violence in Minnesota and call on state legislators to pass a comprehensive public safety package.
?The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is working on the front lines and behind the scenes to track down and apprehend the worst offenders of crime and gun violence in our state. We need to invest in the sophisticated tools and technology they need improve public safety. That?s what I?m working to do,? said Governor Walz.
On Thursday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan celebrated Minnesota?s latest record-breaking low unemployment rate. In June, Minnesota?s unemployment rate reached 1.8%?the lowest monthly unemployment rate that any state has ever reported. Minnesota has now created over 91,000 jobs in the past year, with the state?s labor force participation rate growing to 68.5%.?
On Sunday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan attended a rally for reproductive health care at the Minnesota State Capitol.?
"The fight for access to reproductive health care is about all of us," said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. "That's why as long as Governor Walz and I are in office, we're going to keep showing up to protect and preserve your right to an abortion."
On Friday, Governor Walz visited Guardian Energy in Janesville to discuss how the Walz-Flanagan Administration is working to foster the growth of Minnesota's biofuel industry to lower costs for Minnesotans and move our state toward a cleaner, greener future.
On Monday, Governor Walz visited Hemp Acres in Waconia to celebrate the farm's grand opening. Governor Walz highlighted Minnesota's rapidly growing hemp industry, emphasizing its potential to expand the state's economy while adding to the foundation of Minnesota's farming tradition.
