In recent weeks, Democrats have brought several preposterous gun bills to the floor. Some ban semi-automatic rifles, some ban handguns, some ban magazines over 10-15 rounds, and all make it nearly impossible to exercise your constitutional rights. This week, the Democrats have gone even further by introducing the worst gun control bill to date: H.R. 1808, the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2022.” The Democrats and Joe Biden want to grab your guns, so you can’t when you need them most.

H.R. 1808 was considered in the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, where Democrats rejected even the most commonsense amendments and passed this unconstitutional bill for full consideration on the House floor next week.
Specifically, Democrats had the opportunity to pass what would have exempted both active duty and veterans from submitting to this horrible gun control law. They voted it down, and the message is clear: House Democrats are fine with sending anything that shoots—billions of dollars’ worth of weapons—to Ukraine, but no automatic weapons for U.S. Troops or Veterans. You can count on me for a NO vote on final passage of this bill. Any Republican or Democrat who votes for this unconstitutional bill is betraying their oath to uphold the Constitution and should be forced to pay for it at the ballot box.

On July 19th, I joined Jesse Walters on Watter's World, where we discussed AOC’s attempt to appear as a brave warrior for the pro-abortion movement by pretending to be handcuffed by police officers. However, these days we are more focused on AOC’s silly public stunt than on how Hillary Clinton has continued to skirt justice for so many years after being caught red-handed committing egregious crimes.

Later in the same markup session, I sparred with Democrat Rep. Ted Deutch over the Democrats’ radical gun control measures. I pointed out to Ted Deutch that his home, Democrat-dominated Broward County, adopted the state of Florida’s Sentinel Program to arm schoolteachers to prepare for any threats. Deutch refused to acknowledge the fact that the radical gun control, which he pushed for is unpopular with the constituents who he is responsible for representing. The state of Florida has proven that arming good guys with guns to stop bad guys with guns is the solution, and violent gun massacres will continue to happen until Democrats accept this and cease their unconstitutional gun control legislation.

During a separate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday, regarding the government acquiring the data of individuals from companies, former House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte appeared in front of the committee advocating to uphold individual privacy. What Bob Goodlatte conveniently failed to mention is that he is a lobbyist for the Walt Disney Corporation, a corporation that sells the data of park visitors to the government.
When I called Chairman Goodlatte out on this contradiction, he claimed that he was entirely ignorant of his employer’s exploitation of people’s privacy. What is most important though, is that we remain vigilant and informed on what Disney and other corporations are doing to gain unsolicited access to your personal life.

On Tuesday, August 16th, my office is hosting our annual Academy Night at Niceville High School (800 E Johns Sims Pkwy, Niceville, FL), from 6 – 8:30PM. The Academy Night is an opportunity for high school students to speak directly with me and Service Academy representatives to learn more about the process for granting admission to the U.S. Service Academies and receiving a Congressional Nomination (required for entry). All high school students, JROTC groups, parents, principals, and teachers are invited to attend this event to learn more about entry to the U.S. Service Academies.
