John, this is bad news. Just a few weeks ago, the Supreme Court issued a dangerous opinion that undermines the EPA's ability to fight the climate crisis.
I shouldn't have to say this in 2022, but global warming is a fact, John. This isn't a problem that we can ignore and leave to future generations to deal with. The climate crisis is happening right now.
American families are experiencing the climate crisis every day: increasingly intense hurricanes; massive wildfires; ever-rising sea levels; deadly, record-breaking heat; floods that wash away entire homes; and other lethal natural disasters. Just look at the deadly heatwave that swept through Europe this week. Temperatures soared above 100 degrees and daily life ground to a halt as roads and tarmacs melted under the intense heat.
As a country, we have made real progress combating global warming and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. But to prevent the worst effects of this human-made disaster, we still have miles to go, and only a few years left to do it. Now, as the clock ticks closer to the point of no return, it's up to all of us to stand up and take bold action to save our planet.
This fight is about ensuring we protect our home and give future generations a brighter, cleaner future. Sitting on the sidelines simply isn't an option.
As Chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, I'm doing everything I can to combat the climate crisis and empower the EPA to protect families. But with powerful, deep-pocketed forces rallying to defeat us, I need your partnership in this work.
If we lose our Senate majority, Mitch McConnell and his corporate megadonors will have free reign to block the bold, transformative climate action that families and our planet are counting on. So please, can you make a grassroots donation before 11:59 p.m. to defend our Senate majority and ensure that we elect leaders who will fight for a cleaner future? We'll only have the resources to stop the climate crisis with broad grassroots support from folks like you.

I'm so grateful for your support.
