This week, we held a productive China Task Force roundtable with Taiwan Ambassor to the U.S. Bi-khim Hsiao. Taiwan is an ally of the United States and a friend in freedom, democracy and global health security. As Taiwan faces growing aggression from the Chinese Communist Party, our partnership is more important than ever. I'm leading the Arms Exports Delivery Solutions Act to ensure that defense equipment already purchased by Taiwan and other Indo Pacific allies is delivered to them as quickly as possible. Hershel "Woody" Williams received the Medal of Honor for his heroism in Iwo Jima in WWII. He called himself a "caretaker" of the award, saying it belonged to the Marines who did not come home.
