Hi Friend, Our movement for two-party solutions — which speaks to the aspirations, needs, and dreams of America’s working families — is powered by the determination of tens of millions of citizens like you from around the country who are demanding change from our leaders in Washington. But whenever we have success, the guardians of the status quo — the far left, the far right, the establishment, and the media — invariably lash out at us, trying to create a warped impression of who we are and what we are about. This movement of ours is made up of the most idealistic folks I have ever met. You and our other supporters around the country — no matter where they live, how much they make, or what political party they might belong to — are part of a crusade to restore the sanity of bipartisanship and common ground to a system that is out of whack and not regularly addressing the needs of our communities. Thanks to you, we are in the midst of a run of bipartisan achievements in Washington, with two-party progress on legislation related to competing economically with China and safeguarding our election system — all happening in counter to the conventional wisdom that the parties can’t work together this close to an election. As usual, No Labels allies in the House and Senate are leading the way. Your voices, your demands for cooperation and consensus, are being heard. And having a real impact. Which is why those who are threatened by our efforts are predictably striking back. When a New York Times reporter suggests our movement is seen as a “Trojan horse for corporate donors,” you know we have struck a nerve. And make no mistake: This is not a one-time thing. The more successful we get, the more we will face pushback. Please sign this petition to let the world (and The New York Times) know that our movement is made up of citizens from coast to coast who, regardless of economic status, are fighting for a better America by taking on the pernicious influence of the extremes, fighting to make sure our national challenges can actually be addressed. And write a comment of whatever length you wish in the comment box here to explain why you support the goals that our movement considers so important. |
