And we’ve already seen the impacts gangs, drug cartels, and human traffickers are having on our communities. And to make matters worse, President Biden has been selling our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to our adversaries while Americans struggle to keep up with the rising prices. This is unacceptable. This week, I joined Leader Kevin McCarthy, Select Committee on the Climate Crisis Ranking Member Garret Graves, and Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Bruce Westerman for an Energy, Climate, and Conservation Task Force Meeting to talk about Republican solutions to these problems. Rural America is hurting due to the Biden Administration's burdensome regulations. I will continue to work and support American-made energy and urge this Administration to reverse its failed, anti-American energy policies. Watch My Remarks on YouTube Crime Continues to Plague Our Communities Over the past year and a half, crime has skyrocketed under the Biden Administration, spurred by their progressive anti-police rhetoric. Washington State saw a 12% increase in violent crime in 2021 and a decrease in the retention of law enforcement officers. This Administration has placed restrictions on our police to do their jobs, causing crime to rise. This is unacceptable and our communities are paying the price. Our police officers are the backbone of our communities—they risk their lives every day to protect our families and neighbors. They deserve our full support and we must equip them with the resources they need to do their jobs. I will always stand with our men and women in blue and I will continue to work to give them the tools they need to be successful in their jobs.
